How does CNC machining work?

CNC machining is a manufacturing process that uses computer-controlled tools such as lathes, milling machines, and routers to cut and shape metal and other materials. CNC stands for computer numerical control. CNC machining is a subtractive manufacturing process, meaning that material is removed from a part in order to create the desired shape. A CNC machine is programmed with a series of commands, which control the speed, direction, and depth of the cut. The machines are then able to cut and shape the material with extreme precision.
